The journey toward health.. is nothing less than an invitation to wake up to the fullness of our lives

-Jon Kabat Zinn

Psychotherapy

Therapy can be a way to explore our inner landscape and learn how to meet life as it unfolds.

As a therapist, my approach is warm, collaborative and highly personalized to meet each of my clients' needs. I appreciate the opportunity to work with clients to create a space in which growth, change and healing can take place. I integrate relational, experiential, and mindfulness based approaches. I am familiar with the experiences of those who move between different cultures. My work is informed by sociocultural context and I bring a sensitivity to the role of family, culture(s), spirituality and society in the unique lives of my clients.

Common concerns that bring people to psychotherapy:
  • life transitions
  • self care
  • stress management
  • developing inner resources
  • grief/loss
  • difficulties in relationship with others
  • difficulties in relationship with self
  • academic/work related concerns
  • women's issues
  • cultural issues

Getting Started

Appointments:
Currently, I offer remote appointments via phone or video.  I utilize a HIPAA compliant video service which ensures that your privacy is protected.  Due to licensing restrictions, I am only able to work with clients located in the state of California.

If you plan to use insurance:
I am an in-network provider for UC Berkeley SHIP and for Aetna.
For those who have other insurance health plans, I am considered an "out-of-network" provider which means that your insurance company may or may not reimburse you directly for some portion of the fees you have paid to me. I am happy to give you a monthly invoice of payments made in full, that you can submit to your claim to  your insurance carrier for reimbursement.
If you intend on using your insurance for reimbursement, please consult with your insurance carrier prior to starting services to ask about your benefits if you choose to work with me.

If you choose to not use insurance:
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under new law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.  While all psychotherapy clients that I work with have and will continue to receive a Services Agreement document that includes my practice policies and information about my fees, from the start of our work together, this is an additional new requirement that involves providing you with a separate Good Faith Estimate form.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.
