Initial phone consultation
I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and to determine whether I have the resources to meet your needs.
Appointments:
Currently, I offer remote appointments via phone or video. I utilize a HIPAA compliant video service which ensures that your privacy is protected. Due to licensing restrictions, I am only able to provide this service for clients located in the state of California.
If you plan to use insurance:
I am an in-network provider for UC Berkeley SHIP insurance and for Aetna.
For those who have other insurance health plans, I am considered an "out-of-network" provider which means that your insurance company may reimburse you directly for some portion of the fees you have paid to me. I am happy to give you a monthly invoice that you can submit to your insurance carrier for reimbursement for the full fee payment at the time of the session.
If you intend on using your insurance for reimbursement, consult with your insurance carrier prior to starting services to ask about your benefits if you choose to work with me.
If you choose to not use insurance:
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.
